Do I need a cable box to get cable TV?
You do not need a cable box (digital converter) in order to get cable television, but you do need either a cable ready TV set or VCR. You do need a cable box (or a cable card) in order to get digital cable or HDTV. - Video On Demand requires a digital cable box provided by Mediacom.Ruth S. in Loretto, MN

There could be a couple of things that you will want to double check to ensure that you can send and receive all of your e-mails.
1. Check to make sure that your modem has all the lights are on and some flashing. Make sure that the Activity light and the PC Link light are flashing.
2. Make sure your settings are correct in Outlook Express (this is the same for Outlook) For Outlook Express, go to Tools, Accounts, click on Mail, go to your Mediacom Email account and then Servers. Make sure that both your incoming and outgoing mail servers are set to mail.mchsi.com.
3. Double check your e-mail address and password. Ensure that they are correct.

How can I hook up more than one computer to the Internet with my cable modem?
The short and simple answer is, 'you can't'. You will need to purchase a router and hook that up to your cable modem and then to your computers. Follow the instructions that come with the router and you should have no problem getting that up and going. Supplies you may need: CAT5 or NIC Cables (the phone cords on 'steroids' that hook your modem to the computer currently) If you purchase a wireless router, you will need to make sure that all your computers that you are not hooking up directly with a CAT5 or NIC cable have a wireless receiver hooked up to them. Mediacom does offer networking service for our customers for $5.95/month. We will hook up your computers for you with all the necessary equipment. Additional charges apply for the installation and additional equipment that may be necessary. Please contact you local Mediacom office or our friendly Customer Service staff will be able to answer your questions at 1-800-332-0245 24/7.Find more about Mediacom Home Networking Service at www.mediacomcable.com/internet_networking.html

I signed up for Mediacom Phone and love it. Will Mediacom be offering cell phone service too?
Mediacom currently offers the "Triple Play" of services; Video, Internet & Phone service. We hope in the future that we will offer the "Quadruple Play" with cell phone service. There is nothing formal at this time but hopefully sometime in 2007 Mediacom will make an announcement about cell phone service availability. You can find more information about Mediacom Phone Service at www.mediacomcable.com/phone.html
