There is a very low voltage that Mediacom uses in the cable connection. The chances are very low that you will get a shock from your Mediacom Connection. If you do get a shock, it is most likely from static that you would pick up by moving through your home.

I'm shopping for a High Definition TV. Which is better, LCD or Plasma?
To answer this question we consulted the experts at Dostal Electronics & Music Center in Hutchinson, MN. Josh from Dostal Electronics has some very good points to share: 1) LCD has surpassed Plasma in picture quality by improving the contrast ratio (which means the black levels are much blacker), and improving the viewing angels (which allows you to view the TV from more angels than previously). 2) You will not have any burn in on an LCD TV unlike a Plasma and also the LCD uses much less power than a Plasma while running the TV. 3) The prices are roughly the same. The example Josh from Dostal gave was (at the time of the shoot) compairing 40" LCD @ $2,500, and a Plasma @ $2,250. (There has been price drops since the airing of this episode, please check your local HDTV store for more updated prices) 4) An LCD TV will last you, with average use, about 25 to 30 years.
