How can I stop my kids from watching adult programs on premium channels like HBO and Showtime?
If you have Mediacom Digital Service the Parental Controls are located in the Menu. You can choose to block movie ratings (PG, PG-13, R, ect.), TV ratings (TV-G, TV-MA, ect.) or entire channels. Click here (go to page 30) for more information on how to set your Parental Controls.
If you do not have Mediacom Digital Cable, you can add a Digital Box and have the ability to block content you deem inappropriate. Otherwise check to see if your television is equipped with V-Chip technology. Consult your TV's Manual for more information on how to use the V-Chip and parental block. Each television is a little bit different.
Most importantly, talk with your children about what is appropriate for their age and monitor their TV viewing.
