Will all cable channels eventually become digital? If so, will the "basic" package go up in price?
Mediacom is heading down the same direction that the other cable operators are and we will also be converting a lot of the broadcast channels that are currently on the Basic and Family Cable, putting them on a digital platform. The delivery method is changed from analog to digital. You will receive these channels digitally. All the channels delivered by Mediacom eventually be available digitally and received by either a digital cable box or a digital ready television set. Price: It depends... through the digital platform, we will be able to deliver more channels to you and there might be a price movement, but there has been no decision made yet.

Will high definition channels play on my normal non-HD TV set?
They will, but... they will not be in High Definition. You will see them 'digitally' but not in High Definition. You need a HDTV Set and a HDTV Converter from Mediacom (or cable card) in order to view these channels in HD. HDTV is available in most of Mediacom's communities. What's the difference between Video On Demand and Subscription Video On Demand?
Everything On Demand can be consider Video On Demand, but Subscription Video On Demand requires a subscription to a service in order to receive it. For instance, if you are a subscriber to the Starz!/Encore movie package (Digital One Star), you will receive the Starz! On Demand FREE of charge because you are a Starz!/Encore subscriber, but you will not be able to access the Cinemax, HBO, Showtime or The Movie Channel (TMC) On Demand. To help identify what is free and what is not On Demand, look in the upper right corner of your TV screen, if there is a price, then it is not free, if not, ENJOY Free of charge. In the bottom left of the screen, there will either be an "eye", meaning FREE, or "BUY" and the price in the upper right is cost of the program."Regular" Video On Demand, not that it is "regular" is the pay for On Demand services. You can find these under the Movies, More On Demand and Adult categories on your On Demand Menu. The WWE 24/7 is also Subscription Video On Demand.
